The Great Escape

A group of adventurers finds themselves in complete darkness, chained to the floor of a ship that is violently rocking. After breaking free, they seize the opportunity to loot the ship, but a violent storm causes it to capsize. They wash up on a beach where they are attacked by fish people, but ultimately emerge victorious and take shelter in the shipwreck.

They discover that one of their fellow prisoners is from this area and agrees to help them return to the mainland in exchange for their assistance in finding a missing member of their tribe. After a perilous journey across the island, they encounter a community of rock people.

While there, the adventurers discover that a conflict rages between the rock people, and that one of their own has gone missing. In exchange for assistance in returning to the mainland, they agree to help locate the missing tribe member. Following an arduous day or two scouring the underdark, the group manages to locate and rescue the captive, fending off hostile underdark rock people in the process. With their newfound allies, the party returns to the rock people's cave and is escorted back to the mainland, ultimately arriving in Baldur's Gate, finally free from danger.
